"A new specialist court for victims of domestic violence has been opened at Luton Magistrates Court. The move is aimed at ensuring domestic violence victims feel confident about giving evidence in court. It follows a feasibility report by Bedfordshire's criminal justice board and Luton's domestic violence group. The court will only deal with adult cases, and will hope to reduce the number of cases where victims later retract their evidence. It will be staffed by specially-trained magistrates and will be held weekly. " [Snippet]
