"Among the 103 graduates, 23 are visible minorities, two are new immigrants and 17 are women. Not entirely reflective of the city's demographics, in which visible minorities make up more than a third of the population and women make up half, the class is a move in the right direction. Since 2003, visible minorities entering the police have nearly doubled. Together, they speak 68 languages, including Tamil, Hakka, Creole, Macedonian and Gaelic."
