"Armed robberies at shopping malls are threatening to halt a retail boom in South Africa. Raids on cash transports between stores and banks jumped 15 percent last year, said Kenny Fihla, chief executive officer of Johannesburg-based lobby group Business Against Crime, in a telephone interview. Guards have been gunned down and shoppers hospitalized during the attacks, which have captured newspaper headlines nationwide."
