"A Dutch police chief wants the power to take DNA samples from all people who commit suicide to help solve crime. To support his argument, Heijsman said his officers solved two notorious cases in 2005 after the culprits killed themselves. One case involved the murder of Arthur Gurahoo 20 years ago. Testing established a match between the dead suspects and the crimes. Heijsman said the law should be changed to give the authorities the power to take DNA in all cases of unnatural death to establish whether the victims can be linked to forensic evidence gather in cases that have yet to be solved."
