"Thirteen prisons and five probation areas in the South West of England are to benefit from a coordinated approach to the delivery of learning to offenders in prison and during probation. This will take the form of information, advice and guidance (IAG) services, resettlement advice and management information to track learners throughout their learning journey. The government's vision for reform of prison learning, announced in 2004, encompasses tracking, supporting and educating offenders from 'custody to community'. This new model for delivery will increase offender participation and achievement, thereby improving employability and lessening the chances of re-offending. "
