"Two official reports on the July 7 London bombings have painted a picture of four homegrown extremists so angered by perceived Western injustices against the Muslim world that they independently planned, funded and carried out a major terrorist attack all the while virtually undetected by security and intelligence services. But critics, pointing to the many questions left unanswered by the reports, are now asking why Britain does not follow the lead of the United States after the Sept. 11 attacks and hold a full, independent inquiry in order to unearth lessons which could prevent similar atrocities in the future."
