"The fight back against these invisible cowards should not stop there - it needs government ministers and the scientific community to be far more pro-active in explaining why animal testing is still required. The public is sympathetic, but it needs reassurance and justification. The UK is a world leader in pioneering medical research that has saved and improved the lives of millions. Not just human patients, but animal ones too - veterinary medicines have to be tested also."
