"The New South Wales Bureau of Crime Statistics has lashed out at federal policy on liquor sales, saying too much emphasis on competition is causing harm.
The race riots on Cronulla Beach last December were a wake-up call for people in New South Wales, not only on racism, but also how alcohol can encourage violence.
The NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research has released a report, said to be the first of its kind, which makes a strong link between the availability of alcohol and social problems."
