"UNDER-threat Manx passports look like they have been saved. It was feared the 'Manx' identity of travel documents could be lost when passports start carrying biometric details later this year. However, the passport office says everything is in place to continue the Manx identity when the change happens. Last week, it was reported that talks were continuing to secure the future of Manx passports. British passports are set to start carrying biometric information from October to ensure border security remains tight and passport-holders meet tough new rules in the United States. The cost of producing the new-look documents raised fears the 'Manx' references could be dropped in favour of generic British passports."
