"Even signatures are available online! LOCAL authorities in Yorkshire are putting enough personal details on the internet for people to fall victim to identity theft. The UK's Fraud Prevention Service, CIFAS, has demanded action after discovering some councils even published signatures on planning websites. As many as seven local authorities in the Yorkshire region have published copies of planning applications online – all including the applicant's signature. All seven also included details of the applicant's name, address and telephone number. In some cases, mobile telephone numbers and email addresses were also visible in planning documents. One council told the Yorkshire Post it has changed its policy – but it has still left the old applications and all the details online."
