"YOUNG offenders with convictions ranging from theft to arson have spent a week doing work experience at Watford Fire Station. In a first for Hertfordshire, 11 youths became the first attendees of the LIFE (Local Intervention Fire Education) project aimed at rehabilitating troubled teenagers. The group, aged between 13 and 18, attended the fire station in Rickmansworth Road at 7am every morning and were taught lessons in discipline and mutual respect as well as the duties of a firefighter."
