"In Yorkshire, Muslims and Christian leaders were anxiously watching developments as about 60 people of various faiths met at a mosque in Beeston. The vigil, a show of unity, was hastily organised on Friday in response to the British National Party trial and the row over the cartoons. Mohammed Farouk, representing Stratford Street mosque, condemned the 'hotheadedness' of protesters in London. 'What they did in London was categorically wrong, saying they will kill people. That's not Islam.' Community leader Asghar Khan, who also attended the silent vigil, called for the police to prosecute protesters for incitement. He said the Muslim community felt frustrated and angry over the cartoons. 'People need to be tolerant and respect other people's religions. We want respect back - we are British, this is our home. We do respect freedom of speech but the cartoons are a step too far.'"
