The Home Office has issued a consultation on the law enabling the police to require people to disclose their encrypted data in an intelligible form or to disclose their keys to the data is Part III of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000. If you’re involved as an ICT professional in criminal justice IT, or work with the Police & this could effect you, then get involved in the consultation and comment on the proposals.
