"A MONEY-laundering scheme involving poker machines was an evil that needed to be rooted out. Thousands of dollars at a time of illegally gained money can be legitimatised through the pokies without trace. A loophole in regulations in NSW allows criminals to use non-linked machines to launder money without having to show identification to receive cash or cheque payouts, it said.
