Gun-violence program helps kids
Victims, offenders realize commonalities to reduce arrests

It is rare when a 16-year-old gang member voluntarily performs 65 hours of community service and decides to finish high school.

After completing the six-week Youth Gun Violence Program, one Chicago youth chose to do just that.
The program links youth who are convicted of weapons violations with victims of gun violence. Through face-to-face meetings, the young offenders learn how a single gunshot can change a life forever."
