The governments of Bangladesh have some how did not attach any importance to the issue of National Identity Card to the people of this country. Since ours is a country which has emerged as a sovereign and independent state in the subcontinent following the partition of 1947 and separation of 1971 but its relative geographical position and homogeneity of its people in appearance, culture and language with the people of bordering country that surrounds us from three sides lends utmost weight to the issue of National Identity card"
