"A NATIONAL police centre of excellence to tackle Scotland's 'booze and blades culture' is to be created under a fresh Executive campaign aimed at ridding the country of its violent reputation. The centre will be spearheaded by specialist officers who will devise tactical operations which can be targeted on the nation's worst crime hot-spots. It will also draw on professional expertise from housing, education, public health and other fields to attack the root causes of violence. "
