"Dutch citizens will now be given a personalized web page and the opportunity to access all their personal information related to the state online, even renewing important documents or the status of permits. Between 10 and 15 government organizations will participate, giving citizens on-line access to their tax information, grants, licences and social security data.

The goal is to let citizens and companies access to their data at any time in hopes of reducing administrative costs. A trial Personal Internet Page (PIP) will begin later this year. A few European countries have put state, regional and local services online as the idea of paperwork and waiting in lines may become obsolete. " [Snippet]
