"Greece will begin issuing electronic passports in June, says ASK, a France-based contactless smart card company. ASK says Greek authorities have ordered 'several million' of the e-passports through Toppan, a Japan-based company that will personalize the travel documents. Michel Leduc, ASK's contactless solutions director, says a specific number of e-passports is not being disclosed. Greece has a population of 10.7 million people, according to the CIA World Factbook. ASK is providing the contactless smart card chip and antenna as an inlay placed into the front or back cover of the passport booklet. The inlay uses an antenna made with printed ink that eliminates the need to have a solder connection to the chip, and a module to hold the chip, Leduc says. " [Snippet]
