"A RADICAL overhaul of policing in four Scots towns will see more bobbies back on the beat. Civilian staff are to be recruited to take over administrative tasks and free up officers' time so that they can concentrate on getting back out on to the streets.
The North Lanarkshire initiative will also create the UK's first dedicated customer relations unit for victims and witnesses.
Everyone who comes into contact with police will soon be able to track and receive information on their case from a single point of contact."
