"WITNESSES are reluctant to take praise for standing up to anti-social behaviour in a recognition scheme considered by the council. Most witnesses who have helped Blyth Valley Council secure action against perpetrators of anti-social behaviour say they are not that interested in being recognised in local awards.A cabinet report said: "Many witnesses are often reluctant to become well known due to fear of reprisals."General contact we have had so far with witnesses would indicate that they do not wish to be the subject of excessive publicity that a formal localised scheme would bring."
