"Although Crime Net has proved its worth in the fight against crime, the Crime Net Manager is urging all retail companies across the town to sign up and reap the benefits. The Crime Net scheme - a Safer Hartlepool Partnership project - aims to use shared intelligence to reduce retail crime and protect staff, customers and property. The project, which is self-funded, enables companies which join to gain access to news and intelligence updates, pictures of the top 10 offenders published by the police, and information on those who have been given exclusion orders, as well as the opportunity to get involved in a 'joint exclusion notice scheme'. And once companies have this list they will be able to recognise the offenders and not let them in their shop and they will also be automatically excluded from all the other member shops. Several prolific offenders have been given Criminal Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (CRASBOs) thanks to evidence collected from current members." [Crime Reduction]
